What is account verification? #
When verifying your account, we check whether the information you provide matches official documents. When guests book a stay or want to become a provider, it is sometimes necessary to verify certain personal information. Your name, address and telephone number will be checked and you will be asked to send a photo. When the data matches, your account has been successfully verified and you will receive a green check mark next to your account.
Why is my account being verified? #
Verifying the identity of guests and providers has several reasons:
- This way it can be checked whether people are actually who they say they are.
- This stops identity fraud or malicious people.
- It gives both guests and providers the confidence that everyone's intentions are the right ones.
How do I verify my account? #
You can do this by clicking on your profile, then clicking on 'verification'. On this verification page, you submit a photo of yourself and your ID to verify that it is you. Click 'Submit' and your details will be checked. Once your verification has been approved, your profile photo will receive a green check mark. This way you can also recognize that others have been verified.
After verification, your documents will be available immediately deleted from all servers.
